Happy Monday everyone! New week, new blogging posts! I hope you're having the most amazing start of the week, as I'm having this schedule with myself, that I'm planning to blog every working day (Monday-Friday) except weekend. But I'm still into it.
I'm trying really hard to keep updating this blog, as it takes time to actually have a subject to write about, because guess what? There are billions of bloggers out there who might have already written about that blog post you've been thinking all night long... Haha you know that's true. BUT what today's post about, is on a point I have mentioned on my last blog post → 10 Popular blog sidebar Items ← Click on it, if you haven't noticed ha!
It's about exchanging Badges! You know that little sidebar you have on your blog? YOU can make a real use of it... So today I'll be sharing with you how you can create your own badge.
So, what I mean with badges, is that you can make a custom image representing your blog and style, but of course the dimensions are different and each one can chose the size they want, just don't make it too large so that it doesn't take the whole sidebar, haha no one wants that, and don't make it too small, that the characters are not visible.
Just follow the next steps, to know how you can create easily the perfect custom badge.
1 | KNOWING THE SIZES
That's an important step if you want your badge to look perfect on your partner's blog, Knowing the sizes, especially the width, is what matters the most, unless you want to have the standard width of most sidebar blogs which is 300 pixels.
But if you want to know the exact width of a specific blog, then you have to right-click on the first item that is located on the sidebar, and choose "Inspect Element" and search for the tag that says "column-blog". And as you see on the picture it shows the size.
2 | CREATING YOUR CUSTOM IMAGE BADGE
This is an easy step, you just have to grab your favorite photo editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop, or just do it online, with a super easy editing tools by going to PicMonkey.
Click for Design if you want to start from scratch, or click on Edit if you already have a nice background image, and start writing or designing what you want.
3 | MAILING IT TO YOUR BLOGGER PARTNER
And that's it! Now you only have to send it through email (for full quality) to your blogger partner with whom you have talked and agreed about. Of course the other blogger will make the same custom image representing their blog and send it to you, so that you both put it one the sidebar, and that what is called to have Blogroll in the sidebar, but fancier ;)
I think this is a brilliant way to benefit from each other and also to show that you support other bloggers, instead of being competitive, remember each one of us have our own style and opinions.
I will be soon posting my badges, and if someone is interested on exchanging with me, definitely let me know, by sending me your message with your badge file through my Contact Form and I'll be so glad to have you featured on my sidebar blog!
Do you already use this method on your blog? Are you willing to try it?
